Tracert, Whois, Netiquette...

During the Tracert exercise, following instructions for the Mac, it came up w/ IP's for CNN, UA, NPR. The function allows one to look up anything you have a domain name for, or IP, and instantly provides the information required. The possibilities are quite remarkable, being able to trace what you like. After all, that's what it's all about, tracking down information about ... whatever.

On the ARIN Whois exercise, I came up w/ Cox Communications from my Comp's IP, also NetBLK-Cox-Atlanta, the home base I assume, it pulled up (DMISI) Distribution Management Info Systems, Inc. Then the Royal Entrada Real Oeste Apts. Interesting, the first entry from both IP's being the distributor, originator, of the online user, or sire, the second being the site, or user, itself.

I find Netiquette to be quite fascinating. Of course, quitew of a bit of the stuff I already knew, though I'm sure my online 'manners' could use some polishing. It's funny, reminiscing now, I recall a computer class I had Jr. year oh H.S., in 1985. We were using the old Radio Shack TSR 80 B&W computers. So long ago! The years are weighing down ... but enough of that droll melancholia. Anyway, yes, the Netiquette rules are very helpful, but over the years I've violated any number of them, sometimes willfully, sometimes not. Mostly concerning length: I tend to babble. I'll have to change my ways, beginning now. I'm :-), to have been able to learn this, I hope that nobody is :-e, I will cut it off here before someone gets :-<. Fortunately, I haven't %-l, so I won't get %-6.

Here's the Bro, nice of him to be thinkin of me, tho he needs to get away from the Skipper(Lopp), and to GTH off that island -- or just get the other castaways and get themselves removed from that fools buffoonery {:(>
